The only danger we're aware of in connection with raw honey is that some spores can survive in it, most significantly, Botulism spores. They can't grow in honey, but they aren't killed by it, so you shouldn't feed raw honey to infants (under 1 year old.) Healthy toddlers older than a year and adults will have no problem with this , because Clostridium botulinum can't live in a healthy gut. |
